The Four Gospel Journey is an 11-week Faith Formation Program designed for anyone interested in a fresh way of engaging with the four gospels. By linking the four core questions of life to the four gospels, these texts come alive in an entirely new way. Now each gospel is a profound guide to daily living. The questions are How do we face change? How do we move through suffering? How do we receive joy? How do we mature in service?
This series explored love hope charity and has completed. Please join us for our HOPE25 Advent Series in Nov/December 2025.
Our community is made up of individuals from all walks of life, united by our faith. We welcome everyone with open arms, regardless of their background, race, or identity or gender.
At Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle, we seek to offer worship with beauty, colour, order and dignity as with open hearts and minds we respond to the living God who makes himself known here. We are an inclusive church who welcomes all people.
We hold the core values of compassion, integrity, justice, faith, courage, and wisdom.
Our Cathedral dominates the skyline, gathering pilgrims, visitors and tourists to enjoy its splendid architecture, music and art.
The Cathedral is Newcastle’s principal War Memorial and holds Memorabilia.
If you are new to the Cathedral or visiting, we hope you feel at home with us, that you meet Christ in our worship together, and that you experience us as a welcoming and joyful community.
Our community is made up of individuals from all walks of life across the Newcastle Diocese, united by our faith. We welcome everyone with open arms, regardless of their background, race, or identity or gender, as we share our love hope charity and especially our hope in Jesus. It is a cathedral safe place to visit, pray and worship.
Hope 25 is an opportunity for us to share the hope that we have in Jesus.
At Christ Church Cathedral Newcastle we are offering several opportunities to explore what hope means to you. Our Hope25 Projects include slow church, art exhibitions, small bible study groups and meditation.

Newcastle Anglican acknowledges the traditional custodianship of the First Nations of the land on which the Cathedral, the mother church of the Newcastle Diocese, ministers—the Awabakal, Biripi, Darkinyung, Geawegal, Kamilaroi, Worimi, Garrigal and Wonnarua peoples—land, water and sky that stretches from the Hawkesbury River to Lake Cathie, from the coast to beyond the Burning Mountain.
We are committed to the work of reconciliation and building strong relationships, respect and trust between the wider Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
